Angel Challenge Trondheim is starting for the second time this fall of 2017. We kick off the program with 20 Startups and 20 investors on October 10th, and continue with a workshop a week until the finale December 5th, where 1 startup receives the investment of 1 million NOK.

Angel Challenge is a workshop based program for investors and startups. During eight evening sessions, 20 angel investors work closely together analyzing 20 investor-ready startups that are competing for an investment of 1 million NOK.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Angel Challenge Trondheim is a workshop based program for startup investors and startup companies. During several evening sessions, 20 angel investors work closely together analyzing 20 investor-ready startups that are competing for an investment of 1 million NOK, whilst learning the mechanics and possibilities of investing in early stage companies. 

Each participating investors set aside 50 000 NOK each upon entering the Program. During the program they work together in groups, selecting and helping 5 finalist startups become a winning investment case, before voting for a single winner at the finale day in the end of the program.

Program Format

  •     20 investors and 20 startups meet
  •     A two month program with 1 evening workshop every week
  •     1 startup receives a 1 million NOK investment

INVESTORS: 

What will Investors do?
During 8 weekly evening sessions, investors will learn how to screen a startup, manage the due diligence process and close an investment together. 

What will Investors gain?
At the end of the program each investor would have invested 50 000 NOK in the winning startup, and have the knowledge and network to start building an investment portfolio.

Investor participation criteria

  •  Want to learn about angel investing
  •  Want to gain access to early stage startups
  •  50 000 NOK to invest, and more in the future 
  •  Pay participation fee of NOK 10 000,- eks.mva.  

STARTUPS: 

What will Startups do?
20 startups with be chosen from all applicants to pitch for 5 places on an eight-week program taking them through the entire investment cycle. 

What will Startups gain?
All 5 finalists will gain investor feedback and top class mentoring on their pitch and strategy, and undergo the full due diligence process - all while connecting with a growing community of investors. 

Startup participation criteria

  •   Dedicated team (Based in Norway)
  •   Available to participate in all program activities 
  •   Expected valuation from 5 to 20 Million NOK
