Co-founder & CEO

How did you come up with the idea for your startup?

Emelie, one of three founders, was sitting at home one day and wanted to adopt a healthier lifestyle. She wanted help from a PT, maybe some dietary guidance and concrete help on how to workout at home or outdoors. She didn't want to go to a loud gym and lift weights. When googling for these services, it all seemed rather obscure and hard to find something good. That's when the idea for a transparent marketplace app came to her.

What's your entrepreneurial history, or is this your first go at a startup?

I've been involved with Cognition Forge AS since September 2017 and before that, I have had a go at e-commerce and fitness clothing.

If you weren’t building your startup, what would you be doing?

Working and studying

What are you REALLY into outside of building your company?

Nothing, this project has me 100% dedicated and focused. If I must mention something, fitness, and personal development.

What have been the hardest part during the early stages of your startup?

Being critical of all aspects of something you are genuinely passionate about, but it's also been the greatest experience for us to bring with us moving forward. Also, bootstrapping with private savings for over a year is quite tough, when you are an entrepreneur 100% of the time.

What's the one thing you wouldn't manage without when starting your company?

Having great co-founders, taking help from experienced advisors and our CTO.

What drives you as an entrepreneur?

Building something of your own making and being able to impact the lives of others in a positive way (Solving a problem!).

What's your experience of fundraising and dealing with investors?

We've been in dialogue with a few since we started the company, but honestly, we didn't want to until recently, because we wanted to keep thing tight and go independently for as long as possible.

What do you look for in an investor?

Someone with experience where we lack it (could be anything really), an eagerness to succeed, and also that they see the same great value and potential in the project that we do, as co-founders.

Why did you decide to apply for Angel Challenge?

Because a friend told me it would be a great way to get in touch with connected people and to help refine our models and become investment ready... And hopefully also to get an investment!

What's the one thing you feel that you are better at than most other people?

Building something from nothing.
