PITCH CHALLENGE

Assignment 1

Startups should look at the deck of a company they know and love, and see how they sold themselves. What was the vision for Uber back when it was Uber Cab? How about Coinbase before cryptocurrency took off?

Find your favourite startup here:

Assignment 2

Create a new pitch deck with your improvements based on what you learnt in the session. Submit the new Pitch deck using the form. If you consider you do not need to change anything on your Pitch Deck then, tell us why you think so.

You are not expected to have a clear answer for each of the elements for the pitching of week 2. However, you should start taking the right steps in order to be able to answer them for selection day in week 5. This will help you identify which are the weakest and strongest elements of your business and what it should be your priority for the following weeks.

METRIC CHALLENGE

Assignment 1

Select up to 5 key metrics of your business that you religiously track or that will you track during the AC program. Explain us why have you chosen them and think about how can you improve them and the goals you would like to set for the next months.

During the next session startups will have to present to PM and other startups which metrics they will track and why.

Form

Note: You will need to complete the form for every metric you select!

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

Assignment 1

Following the validation steps, startups will have to identify the most important assumptions they need to validate and convert them into hypothesis ready to be tested.

Read more about how to start mapping your business assumptions.

During the next session, startups will present to the rest of the group the assumptions they want to validate and which hypothesis they will like to use

HOMEWORK

Congratulations for the incredible effort you have demonstrated us in the last month! We are truly impressed by the progress we have seen from all startups in the program and we are certain that investors will be too!

Before we move on to the selection days, where investors will be selecting up to 5 companies they would like to continue working with and hopefully invest, we would like to know what are your fundraising intentions within the program by completing the following form.

Please note that only startups with a true intention to fundraise capital through the program will be eligible to take part in the deal stage.

It is very important that you are honest with the AC team, so that we can create the best experience for you according to your needs. And specially, that you are fair with the other participants in the program, by not taking the seat of a startup with a real fundraising need and by not wasting investors time and energy :)

If you dont want to fundraise within the program, or if you are not one of the 5 selected companies, dont worry! During the Growth Challenge Program you will continue improving your investment readiness and growth potential, and you will still have the opportunity to work with investors during Local Demo Day and National Demo Day!

PITCH CHALLENGE: Investor presentation

Create your investor presentation using the Pitch Preparations materials and Startup Evaluation Guide.

Remember: The investor presentation should not be more than 10 minutes and should have an specific focus on your:

  • Financials & fundraising needs

  • Go to market plan

  • Product roadmap

  • Investment opportunity

Submit the presentation before the session start by using the form below.

FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE: DD Data Room

Your DD data room should be completed and ready to share by next session!

The 3-5 selected startups will be requested to share access to their DD folders with the investor group to start the deal negotiations and Due diligence process. The non selected startups will share their DD folders up on individual request from investors.

So, for next week, it is compulsory that you share your DD data room checklist with your Program Manager to verify that your DD folder is completed and ready to share. Sharing your DD folder to the Program Manager is optional only if you wish to receive feedback and mentoring before sharing it with the investor group.

Remember: use the Angel Challenge DD data room example and checklist to guide you.

*Please note that all participants, AC team members and partners are under NDA and with the obligation to treat all sensitive information with the due care.
